Watauga Public Library
Library1:00 PM — Halloween show — free to the public
Public performances at festivals, fairs, libraries, and museums — free to the public, booked and hosted by the venue.
Many of Daryl's shows are private bookings — birthday parties, corporate events, school assemblies. But a big part of what Snake Encounters is about has always been public performance: getting in front of communities, families, and curious people who didn't know they wanted to meet a snake until they did.
Festivals, county fairs, public libraries, rec centers, and museums are where that happens. These shows are free to the public — the venue books and pays for the show, and the audience just shows up.
Daryl has performed at festivals and county fairs across North Texas for decades — including two years at the Grayson County Fair. A live snake show is a natural crowd-stopper at any outdoor event, and the energy at a fair is hard to beat.
Library shows are some of Daryl's favorites. The crowds are curious, the questions are great, and libraries draw families who are genuinely there to learn. If your local library hasn't hosted a snake show yet, that's something you can change.
Daryl performed for years at The Science Place in Dallas — packing the theatre show after show. The Science Place has since moved downtown and become the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, and getting back on that stage is very much on the agenda.
Community rec centers, nature centers, and civic venues are a great fit for a live reptile show. If there's a venue in your area that hosts public programming, it's worth a conversation.

Here's something most people don't realize: if you can get Daryl's foot in the door with your favorite library, rec center, museum, or school, you can make a free public show happen in your community.
Daryl handles the booking conversation once there's an introduction. You don't need to negotiate or organize anything — just make the connection. If you know someone at a venue that would be a great fit, reach out and let Daryl know.
And if you want to be your kid or grandkid's biggest hero — sponsor a show for their school, scout pack, team, or group's assembly, and be there for it. Daryl will get you recognized (with a big snake around your neck) as the reason they got to see the show, and that kid will be the hero of the day because you made it happen.
